Sangama app is an e-governance initiative and a brainchild of Mr. Vijay Mohan Raj, IFS, who partnered with Pronto Software Solutions to convert his idea into an application.
Sangama is an application for the Karnataka Forest Department - Belagavi Circle (Belagavi, Vijaypura, Bagalkot, Gokak), which is designed to help the officers monitor and Update their work status online/offline.
Key Features of the app are as follows:
- Availability of all the assets assigned to the officer's at their fingertips.
- Location name description in Kannada and English to make readability easy.
- List of activities predefined and colour coded for the different plantation methods making it easy for identification.
- Updating the activity images with the GPS location information, making it easy for tracking the location details of the asset.
Vijay Mohan Raj a 1995 batch IFS officer is Chief Conservator of Forests with the Karnataka Forest Department. Known as VMR among wildlife circles, he has held various field positions including that of the Director of a Tiger Reserve. VMR is conversant with both, the harsh realities of the frontline staff of the forest department and the demands of the new eco-tourist. He is known to spearhead technology use in the frontlines of forest protection and bringing transparency in the working of the Karnataka Forest Department. SANGAMA is a first app for the country if not the world wherein frontline staff of Karnataka Forest Department login their field based activities in real time for easy monitoring and successful raising of plantations.
